The new wing connects to the existing building from the north-east. Growing out of the sloping terrain, the building rises out of its surroundings like a block of stone. As if the layering of the ground continued, the layered slabs, shifted relative to one another, form the levels of the building, which is reinforced by the natural stone cladding, the same stone with different surface finishes. The terraced design of the steep part of the plot continues in the architecture of the building. In siting it, we took account of the conditions of the plot and the surroundings. Following the gentle breaks and directions of its surroundings, the building makes its place in an organic way and becomes part of them. The new wing connects to the existing building through a single-storey section. Exploiting the advantages of the plot's slope, we shaped the building so that both its ground floor and its lower level have a direct connection to the terrain. The facility performs a wide range of social tasks. The building contains a care home for the elderly and a temporary family home for ten families, with the necessary service and support units, while a section for the homeless was created in the existing building that is being converted. In connection with the care home, we created a seniors' club. Beyond all these tasks, the institution also looks after the care and catering of elderly people in individual need.
