Through its architectural design, the planned sports hall and conference centre creates an active relationship with its surroundings and its users. In siting the planned ensemble, we adapt to the conditions of the surroundings and turn their advantages to the benefit of the building. We place the building parallel to Kőér utca, forming a street wall that also serves as acoustic protection for the recreation park. We set the building back from the Kőér utca plot boundary far enough to fit a row of parking spaces, its access road and a green strip along the boundary. In designing the ensemble, an important consideration for us was that it could be built in phases, and that both the individual phases and the final ensemble would present a unified architectural appearance. Despite this unity, the sports and conference functions are clearly separated, with their circulation and access splitting in the shared foyer, so the functions do not mix. The architecture of the ensemble is clean and shows a contemporary architectural image. The massing follows the ceiling heights of the individual functions. While the facade facing Kőér utca follows the line of the street taut and parallel, the courtyard facade of the mass turns towards the recreation park in a gentle curve. From the street side the building mass breaks open at the main entrance, and from the courtyard side between the changing room and gym wing and the sports hall. The building has a direct relationship with its surroundings and opens up intensely towards the recreation park, reinforced by openable glazed surfaces. The direct connection with the park lends the building a special and unique atmosphere.
