Family house remodelling Budapest, District XI 2013-2014
The existing building was built around 1980: a flat-roofed house with a ground floor and an upper floor, partly with a basement. During the remodelling we extended it with a rooftop addition at roof level and created a terrace on the roof. The existing upper-floor loggia is built in, and the east side of the ground-floor terrace is given piers. The interior of the family house was completely remodelled. The massing of the building is determined by that of the existing one, which we do not extend horizontally. At roof level we create a set-back rooftop addition that follows the massing and materials of the building. The facade is white rendered. The ground-floor covered terrace and the east wall next to the entrance receive a flat, black, large-format facade cladding.
