The home of a family with four children stands in an atmospheric setting, on a wooded plot in Kurucles that is reached by a steep slope. In siting the house, we strove to preserve as large a contiguous garden as possible and to create an intense relationship with it. Despite the extreme terrain and the constraints of the plot, we turned the opportunities offered by the setting to the advantage of the house and shaped it to the family's individual needs. The architecture responds sensitively to its surroundings. Thanks to good spatial organisation, favourable orientation, large sliding doors and a covered terrace, the ground-floor living–dining–kitchen space has a direct connection to the garden, while on the top floor a generously sized terrace offers views of the Buda Hills. We also tailored the interior design to the family's needs, taking into account the ideas of both parents and children, so that it forms a coherent whole with the architectural concept. In this way, inside and outside form an organic unity. Thanks to its compact, energy-conscious design, the building has very low energy consumption.
